Recording Industry alumnus, GRAMMY winner and hit songwriter Luke Laird shared his tips for music success when he spoke April 2 in the Mass Communication Building.
Laird’s recent GRAMMY was for Country Album Of The Year for “Same Trailer Different Park” by Kacey Musgraves.
Some of his hits include Carrie Underwood’s “So Small,” “Last Name,” “Temporary Home” and “Undo It”; Blake Shelton’s “Hillbilly Bone” featuring Trace Adkins; Sara Evans’s “A Little Bit Stronger”; Rodney Atkins’s “Take a Back Road”; Eric Church’s “Drink in My Hand”; Little Big Town’s “Pontoon”; Hunter Hayes’s “Somebody’s Heartbreak” and Chris Young’s “You.” He has also written and produced songs for Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, Ne-Yo, Luke Bryan, John Legend, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Darius Rucker and many others.
Laird’s appearance was sponsored by the MTSU chapter of NSAI, Nashville Songwriters Association International. The event was open to the public.
