Alumnus Pete Olson returned to campus recently to speak with students in Recording Industry Assistant Professor Gloria Green’s Artist Management class. He passed along his insight as a former agent and now artist manager in the music business.
Olson graduated with a music business concentration from the Department of Recording Industry in 2002 and entered the William Morris agent-training program. There he worked under well-known agent Jay Williams, assisting with the personal appearances of Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Nickel Creek and others. Later, he worked as a booking agent at Paradigm Talent Agency before moving into artist management.
Green, who owns music business consulting firm Gloria Green Entertainment, has known Olson since his time at William Morris.
“I met Pete when he came to work at WMA [William Morris Agency] shortly after he left MTSU,” Green said. “Since then, he started working in artist management and recently launched his own management company.”
Olson’s new management company is Master Craft Management, which currently represents country artist Clark Manson and has several other artists under development.
