Full-service lifestyle marketing agency Grayscale Entertainment Marketing (GSM), led by alumnus Tim Gray, recently opened its door in Nashville’s Germantown area. The company manages social media for artists such as Matt Stillwell, Jared Weeks and Adairs Run’s single featuring Chris Daughtry.

Gray, a 2004 graduate of the Department of Recording Industry, began his career in the music industry in 2005 with the launch of his first entertainment company, Concert Gorilla Inc., an event ticketing company. After brokering a deal for the purchase of the company, Gray evolved into concert promotion, working with artists as diverse as his own musical taste. Artists he worked with include Papa Roach, Percy Sledge, George Clinton, WU-Tang Clan and Sugarland. Gray successfully attempted the creative side of the business during his tenure, producing music videos for national artists such as Saving Abel. Gray also specialized in live event photography, shooting artists for both digital and print outlets nationwide. Artists Gray photographed include Keith Urban, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Hinder.

In 2010, Gray relocated from Virginia to Nashville, eventually accepting an artist management position at Big Show Music Co., then becoming booking agent at Artist Events Inc., focusing on recruiting emerging talent and booking the company’s eclectic roster nationwide.
Gray left his position at Artist Events in early 2014 to begin his next venture, Grayscale Entertainment, and work toward a new model for today’s changing entertainment industry. In 2015, he opened Grayscale Entertainment Marketing, a strategic partnership company dedicated to aligning authentic partnerships for brands, artists and events.
