EMC Productions is gearing up for a busy semester of productions. Led by Assistant Professor Robert Gordon, the team will produce 15 MT football and basketball games this season, in addition to the 14 MT women’s soccer and volleyball games the EMC advanced classes produced for networks C-USA and BeIN Sports.
For the last nine years, Gordon has been helping MTSU students learn the tools that drive the professional video production industry. EMC Productions has been referred to as the “varsity team” for production at MTSU. With help from MTSU’s mobile production lab, Gordon and his team of students broadcast coverage from events ranging from MTSU athletics to local music and arts festival Bonnaroo.
EMC Productions’ about 30 students need to be ambitious and talented as well as have proper skills to make the cut. They do not receive credit hours for their involvement, but the positions are paid. Gordon acknowledges that being on the team is competitive, and just like any job, if you do not meet certain requirements, you will be let go.
