Tracey Rogers, a veteran of Nashville television, has been named VP and general manager of WKRN, the market’s Nexstar-owned ABC affiliate. She will assume her new responsibilities immediately and report to Mike Vaughn, SVP and regional manager of Nexstar Broadcasting.
Rogers began her broadcasting career nearly three decades ago in Nashville at WSMV before moving on to WTVF and then to WKRN, where she was assistant news director for four years.
She has expertise in local and national sales management, new business development, local news programming and strategic planning across multiple media platforms. Rogers most recently was GM of WMC-TV Memphis.
Prior to that, she was GM of KAIT Jonesboro, Arkansas. Before her time in Jonesboro, she held news director positions at WMC Memphis; WAFF Huntsville-Decatur-Florence, Alabama; and WPSD Paducah, Kentucky.
Rogers graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1991, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with an emphasis on broadcast journalism. She was inducted into the College of Media and Entertainment’s Wall of Fame in 2007.
Rogers is also a graduate of the National Association of Broadcasters Executive Development Program. She is a current board member of the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters.
