MTSU’s Center for Popular Music will be among locations to be included in Phase I of the Tennessee Music Pathways, a statewide initiative that identifies, interprets, promotes and preserves well-known and lesser-known music events, locations and stories across the state.

WMOT-FM, Middle Tennessee State University’s public radio station, is dramatically expanding its reach and range of music to launch a new format dedicated to Americana music and a new home on the dial for its current jazz format.

Longtime music business journalist and author Barry Mazor was on campus Jan. 26 to present his new book, “Ralph Peer and the Making of Popular Roots Music.”
