NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Thirteen students from MTSU’s Department of Media Arts honed their skills further recently by working as pre-show or telecast crew members for the 53rd annual Country Music Awards, one of the genre’s biggest events.

The Baldwin Photographic Gallery just wrapped up the exhibition Mark Klett: Ideas About Time, featuring nearly 50 works from several photographic projects created by Klett individually or collaboratively over the last 35 years. 

The College of Media and Entertainment was well represented at the 2019 Nashville Film Festival, scheduled for Oct. 3 through 12.

The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, served as a hands-on, outdoor classroom for College of Media and Entertainment students in 2019 for the sixth year in a row.

In May 2019, Dr. Guangping Zheng, Professor Kevin McNulty and animation students Catie Adams, Tyler Aldridge and Virginia Lake Petty traveled to Shanghai, China and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to participate inWonderful World International Student Media Art Exhibition. 

During spring semester 2019, Jacob Keener, a graduate student in MTSU’s Recording Arts and Technologies Master of Fine Arts program, presented his final project at The Tracking Room Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Three acclaimed alumni are now part of the Wall of Fame in MTSU’s College of Media and Entertainment: archival engineer Deborah Fairchild, New York Times best-selling author Leland Gregory, and public relations and marketing executive Dwayna Haley.
