Jim Ridley, editor of the Nashville Scene, film critic, journalist and MTSU alumnus, passed away on April 8, 2016, after suffering a cardiac event in the Scene offices on March 28. Top students past and present were the focus of MTSU’s College of Mass Communication April 24 awards ceremony as leaders added three prominent alumni to the college’s “Wall of Fame” and presented student scholarships and awards for this academic year.

Congratulations to Recording Industry Professor John Dougan, whose book “The Mistakes of Yesterday, The Hopes of Tomorrow — The Story of the Prisonaires,” was recognized as “Best Music Book” in the Nashville Scene’s Best of Nashville 2013 survey.
