Kudos to Recording Industry Professor Amy Macy, chosen as one of 45 industry professionals nationwide for the 2014 class of Leadership Music. Founded in 1989 by 11 music industry alumni of Leadership Nashville, Leadership Music has graduated more than 950 leaders. The annual program is designed to create a forum for established music community leaders to identify and explore issues currently affecting the music industry, as well as providing once-in-a-lifetime experiences and the opportunity to build lasting relationships.
Leadership Music explores how all elements of the industry operate, individually and cooperatively – record labels, artist management, studio recording, songwriting, music publishing, media, new technology, marketing and more. The program promotes teamwork, camaraderie and dialogue among industry leaders, expanding the talent pool of leadership in the community and exposing class participants to varying points of view and philosophies. According to Leadership Music, “Each candidate selected to participate in the Leadership Music Program is thought of as an established leader in their given profession. This distinction separates the selection-based program from other leadership organizations nationally, most of which are tuition-based and teach emerging talent to become leaders.” TLE
