The campus rocked on Aug. 29 when the College of Mass Communication’s student record label produced a concert, Match Records Presents: Welcome Week 2014, on the Student Union Commons.
Performances included the record label’s own artist Luke Caccetta, plus local acts Maybe April, Brittney Spencer, James, Magnolia Wren, SterFry, Exum, The Famous Club, Steven Nix and Clay Cages.
Match Records is spearheaded by Recording Industry Assistant Professor Stacy Merida. The concert was part of MTSU’s Week of Welcome, sponsored by New Student and Family Programs. Events included a Student Organization Fair and Department Fair and concluded with Crash the Commons.
Match Records strives to involve students in all aspects of a traditional record label: talent acquisition and development, production, marketing and distribution. In turn, students gain real-world experience and opportunities for networking. To learn more about Match Records, check out matchrecordsmusic.com or contact Merida at stacy.merida@mtsu.edu.
