The MFA in Recording Arts and Technologies scored a huge win at this year’s Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York.
Third-year MFA student Kyle Holland was awarded “Gold” or a first-place win in the Modern Studio Recording category of the Student Recording Competition for the song “Body, Mind, Soul” sung by Natalie Madigan.
Entries in this category are judged by music and production techniques of any style. Holland engineered, produced and mixed the recording. The international competition features students from Berklee, McGill, Belmont and other prominent programs.
The Master in Fine Arts in Recording Arts and Technologies is spearheaded by Professor Bill Crabtree. Students involved in the MTSU Chapter of the Audio Engineering Society attended this year’s annual conference in NYC, but in the past, it has been held in Denmark, Belgium and the United Kingdom.
