The mission of the new sports media minor and concentration in the School of Journalism and Strategic Media is to offer students targeted educational and hands-on opportunities to be successful in the sports industry.

Signed over 200 years ago, the U.S. Constitution was the focal point for Middle Tennessee State University students and faculty on Constitution Day on Sept. 17. The event was a campuswide read aloud of the Constitution in multiple locations on campus. 

Several members of the MTSU School of Journalism faculty attended the 63rd annual Broadcast Education Association Conference held in Las Vegas from April 7 – 10, 2018.

Greg Pitts, director for the School of Journalism, hosted a group of 36 college professors from around the country participating in this year’s National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) meeting in Miami.

The School of Journalism hosted a Future of Journalism Education Roundtable in October in the Bragg Media and Entertainment Building.

MTSU’s School of Journalism is once again ranked among the top 20 programs in the United States, according to a survey by TV Week’s NewsPro Magazine. MTSU was the only Tennessee university in the rankings.
