Randol awarded regional photography Juror’s Award

Shannon Randol

Photography lecturer Shannon Randol won a Juror’s Award for his piece entitled “Nashville, TN” at the Regional Juried Exhibition in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

The exhibition, sponsored by The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, was created to showcase the diversity of the region and artists of Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee and Arkansas. The council hosted an opening reception for the show on Dec 1, which runs until Jan. 27, 2018. Work by 27 artists is featured, including three by Randol. The Art Council’s website currently features Randol’s photograph “Hermitage, TN” at the top.

Randol is a 2005 MTSU graduate of the Department of Media Arts (formerly Electronic Media Communication) and obtained his MFA at Washington University in St. Louis. He is an active member of the Society for Photographic Education and co-chaired the South Central conference held at MTSU in 2014.  He teaches basic digital photography, black and white photography and still digital imaging.
